Diapers of all sizes are being accepted for a diaper drive organized by local middle school students. The goal is 5,000 diapers. The Washington Middle School Builders’ Club is wrapping up their second annual diaper drive on Friday. So far they’ve collected 1,400 diapers and $320 in cash donations.
Eighth-grade students Taylor Bartholomew and Reagan Stouder tell KCII News that helping others is why they joined the club, Bartholomew said, “I wanted to join Builders Club because I heard that you can do things around our community. And I love working with others and being able to help people other than myself.” Stouder echoed that sentiment, “I joined Builders Club because I like helping the community and being a leader, and the Builders Club helps with that. And I love serving others.”
All of the diapers donated will go to families in Washington County. Diapers from size newborn up to 6 are welcome and can be dropped off at the Washington YMCA or Middle School. Last year the students collected over 4,000 diapers. The Builders Club is a branch of Kiwanis.
