Crews are continuing dirt and concrete work on the new Washington County Communications Center. Cara Sorrells with Washington County Communications says that in spite of all of the rain the work is progressing well with crews putting in long hours. The total cost to construct the building that will house dispatch, an emergency operations center, and the new emergency communications radio equipment is $3.6 million. The stout building had specific regulations for strength to withstand storms. Work is about two weeks behind schedule. The completion date is June 2020.
