The Teacher of Promise Award was given to a Washington High School Spanish teacher. Grace Winter was presented the Michael Oates Teacher of Promise Award at the 2019 Iowa World Language Teachers Conference. Each year the award is presented to teachers in their first or second year of teaching in Iowa or students in Iowa teacher-training programs. To be considered, nominees must show exceptional promise to become outstanding world language educators.
