The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls cross country team captured their second straight River Valley Conference title Tuesday night at the Iowa City Kickers Complex. The Mid-Prairie girls won the team title with a score of 26 points, topping second place Iowa City Regina with 74 points. Marie Hostetler won her third straight individual title in a time of 18:31. The Hawks were powered by a 1-2 finish with Mitzi Evans taking the runner-up spot in 20:27. Other finishers for the Golden Hawks included Abbagail Evans sixth, Angelina Evans 10th, Sydney Yoder 12th, Ana Fleming 19th, Jaden Yoder 24th, Amara Jones 39th, Brittany Kinsinger 41st, Tabitha Evans 42nd, Emily Schlabach 51st, Grace Conway 54th, Zoe Fisher 60th, Anna Nafziger 74th, Lilou Beachy 77th, Sarah Meader 79th, and Zebi Kimani 89th.
The Mid-Prairie boys were fourth in the conference race with 134 points. Top ranked Tipton won the team title with 31 points. Top finish for the Golden Hawks came from Jamison Stutzman in 10th with a time of 18:05. Other finishers for Mid-Prairie included Nathan Wallington 22nd, Chandler Hershberger 23rd, Lucas Bontrager 34th, Mose Yoder 53rd, Robert Nagy 72nd, Jordan Stock 90th, Levi Stutlz 94th, Micah Hostetler 98th, Sam Yoder 113th, Gunnar Gingerich 126th, and Evan Hall 132nd. The Golden Hawk cross country teams will next be in action at the state qualifying meet.
