HLV stayed in the driver’s seat to win eight-player district 4, as they got out fast against Winfield-Mt. Union to win 46-20.
The Warriors scored the game’s first three touchdowns and recorded a safety to open a 24-0 lead after the first quarter. The Wolves’ offense started to come to life in the second scoring on two Daunte Oepping touchdown passes to Christian Gerot and one to Juanito Piper. The tally was 40-20 at the break and the HLV defense stiffened the rest of the way to come out with the win. Oepping was 20 of 34 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Jacob Ford had eight receptions for 98 yards and Gerot hauled in seven passes for 91 yards and the two scores. Chance Malone led the defense with five tackles.
The Wolves drop to 1-7 and close out the season Friday hosting WACO.
