Iowa’s soybean harvest is four days ahead of last year, but still five days behind average. This is the first time this season that 2019 soybeans have been ahead of the 2018 soybean crop. Over 30 percent of Iowa’s soybeans have been harvested last week, bringing the total to 48%. In southeast Iowa, 32% of soybeans have been harvested.
Corn in Iowa is three weeks behind last year and over two weeks behind the five-year average with 87% mature. So far, 15% of Iowa’s corn has been harvested for grain, 11 days behind average. In southeast Iowa, 33% of corn has been harvested for grain.
Corn is rated at 12% excellent, 54% good, and 26% fair. Soybeans are rated at 11% excellent, 54% good, and 27% fair. Pasture and range are rated at 5% excellent, 45% good, 38% fair, and 12% poor to very poor.
