More than $100,000 is going to a local organization for their upcoming project. Main Street Mount Pleasant is set to receive funds for their Union Block Project after public votes poured in. The organization will receive $105,000 based on more than 64,000 total votes received, and an additional $50,000 for the more than 5,000 votes cast at their open house event. The funds are from a national grant competition called Partners in Preservation, created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express.
