Jefferson county authorities were involved in a high speed chase Wednesday morning. Fairfield officers attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of Maple Street and Burlington Avenue when the driver, 36-year-old Nolan Peterson, fled. The chase left city limits to the north, ending when Peterson crashed into a ditch near Iris Avenue and Brookville Road. He was uninjured in the crash. He was wanted on a Henry County warrant for parole violation and had been listed on the county’s “Most Wanted” list. He is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on that warrant and has also been charged with eluding.
