lone-tree-3

A winning record meant a lot of postseason accolades for the Lone Tree football team, as nine members were recently recognized by 8-player district 4.

Cale Yoder became the third Lion in the last four years to be awarded defensive MVP for the district. The senior tallied 107.5 tackles to rank fourth in the entire state and 22 of those were for a loss. Other all district members included Keegan Edwards, Trey Shalla, Harmon Miller, Tim Mills, Will Hotz, and Alex Viner. Edwards was old reliable on the outside with 36 receptions for 437 yards and three touchdowns while Viner compiled 1,104 combined rushing and receiving yards and was responsible for 19 scores. As a senior quarterback, Miller led the team with 1,953 yards of total offense and was involved in 34 touchdowns. All of those yards would not have been possible without Shalla and Mills anchoring the offensive line that helped the offense to over 3,000 yards on the season. Hotz was a staple defensively with 59.5 tackles including five for a loss. Chris Reichert and Cade Shield were recognized as honorable mention. Reichert was also a part of the offensive line while Shield was second on the team in tackles with 60.

The Lions won five of their final six games to finish 5-4 on the season.
