High wind warnings were in effect for all of southeast Iowa Wednesday. The National Weather Service had the warning in effect for west to northwest winds up to 40 miles per hour with gusts even stronger. In Washington, winds were about 30 miles per hour with a gust reaching 45 miles per hour. One home on North Marion in Washington had a pine tree crack and fall onto the roof of the one-story house. Reports of power lines were also in Washington. Damage in Louisa County included a large tree down near the intersection of 77th Street and Highway 99. The same storm system dropped as much as six inches of snow in northern Iowa.
