The strong tradition that is Columbus Community/Winfield.Mt Union wrestling got off to a fast start this winter, as they opened the season with a 55-24 dual win over Mount Pleasant.

Out of eight contested matches the Wildcats won five of them. Starting the season 1-0 included Garrett Palmer at 132 lbs with an 8-4 decision, Cesar Neri at 145 lbs by 11-2 major decision, Cameron Rice at 160 lbs by fall (1:11), Luis Guerrero at 195 lbs by injury default, and Chance Malone at 220 lbs by fall (:06).

The Wildcats get back on the mat tomorrow at Wapello.
