See how people decorate their homes for the holidays while helping to fund the lights around Washington’s downtown by going on the annual Candlelight Tour of Homes. The Washington Chamber of Commerce has five homes and one business lined up for the event this weekend. The tour is eclectic with historic homes from the 1800s to brand new construction. Event coordinator Alisha Davis explains what the proceeds are used for, “You’ll just tour each home that’ll be decorated for Christmas in each of their different ways. And all the proceeds from this go toward the lights downtown, so the lights around the square, which we have extended those lights this year outside of just the perimeter of the square but even out further, so that’s going to be something neat to look for this year.” The business featured is the Greiner Buildings office at 120 East Main Street. Tickets for the tour can be purchased in advance at the Chamber or at the door on the day of the event. Check out the tour between 4-8 p.m. Saturday or 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
