The Keota basketball teams hit their home court for the first time tonight when they welcome South Iowa Cedar League foe Belle Plaine to town.
The boys started the year strong on Tuesday with an 83-50 victory over English Valleys. JD Stout picked up right where he left off last year dropping 36 points on 13 of 19 shooting. The Plainsmen also started the year with a win over Iowa Valley by a 57-30 tally. Ben DeMeulenaere is a player to look out for, as he recorded 14 points.
In the girls’ game the Eagles are 0-3 and lost to English Valleys 61-7. Belle Plaine is 1-1 and are led by Olivia Bohlen with 12.5 points a night.
The girls’ game gets underway at 6 p.m. tonight with the boys to follow in Keota.
