Saturday in Wapello featured two KCII area-wrestling teams, as Highland and Sigourney-Keota competed in the Willard Howell Invitational.
The Cobras finished fifth out of 10 teams with 129 points and Wilton won it all with 161. The Huskies placed 10th with 38 points. Jack Clarahan was the headliner for the Cobras winning the title at 152 lbs by pinning all three of his opponents. Mason Dye placed second at 126 lbs along with Nate Schuster at 170 lbs and third place finishes included Aidan Schuster at 182 lbs and Gavin Bird at 220 lbs.
The Huskies had five wrestlers competing and a pair of runner-up finishes led them. Easton Schlabaugh went 2-1 to place second at 106 lbs and Cael Yeggy had two wins by fall to place second at 195 lbs.
Sigourney-Keota travels to Pleasantville today while Highland hosts a triangular on Thursday.
