The WACO basketball teams were back on their home court Tuesday night against Cardinal and walked away with a split.
The Warrior boys continued their blazing start to the year with a 73-39 romp. WACO busted out to a 23-5 advantage after one and 44-13 at the break to put the game to bed early. Drew Kissell had a monster night with 23 points including a trio of threes. Pietro Vannini recorded 17 points while Nik Coble and Gabe Reichenbach each had 13.
In the girls’ game, both teams struggled to find the back of the net with the Warriors holding a slight 14-12 lead at half. The Comets found just enough offense to outscore the Warriors 15-10 in the final 16 minutes en route to a 27-24 victory. Ellah Kissell led WACO with nine points and Morgan Graber had seven.
The Warrior boys improve to 3-0 and the girls are 0-4. Both teams face off with Central Lee on Friday.
