A new board member was sworn in at the Washington Community School Board meeting Wednesday. The board reviewed and approved the official results from November’s election. Kelly Smith was elected to serve on the board, she replaces Stephanie Ellingson who did not seek reelection. Ellingson served on the school board for the past nine years. School business official Jeff Dieleman gave the official oath of office.

Also, Troy Suchan, Eric Turner, and Sonia Leyva were re-elected to the board. Turner was reelected to serve as the board president, and Heidi Vittetoe will continue as the vice president.
