For two years the Celebrate Recovery Brighton Program has been helping southeast Iowa residents overcome life’s challenges. Meeting attendees hail from throughout the area including Brighton, Wayland, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield and Washington. The group is led by Rick Zickefoose of Brighton Community Church and is geared toward tackling issues that range from suicide to addiction, grief to abuse recovery. Participants find their spiritual gifts during their personal journeys. To coincide with the program’s anniversary, they will be launching a new initiative, Celebration Place. This 52-week ministry is geared toward children aged five through 13 to help break the cycles of dysfunction and join their parents in forgiveness and healing. Zickefoose also is pursuing a possible program for teenagers in the future, to provide recovery-care for the entire family. If you would like to find out more about the program you are invited to their meetings Thursday nights from 6-8 p.m. at 403 S. Mechanic Street in Brighton.
