The Lone Tree girls’ basketball team closed the first half of the season being on the short end of a 62-48 Southeast Iowa Super Conference battle with Wapello.
The Arrows won every quarter and kept the Lions at arms length in the second half after leading 25-18 at intermission. Sammy Ewart paced the Arrows with 14 points. The Lions had a big offensive night from Holley Johnson and Kasey Chown, as they each had 16 points with Chown adding seven boards and Johnson with four assists. Lone Tree drops to 5-4 on the season. The Lion boys returned the favor in the nightcap with a 75-54 win over the Indians to move to 6-2.
Both teams are off for the holiday break and get back at it on January 3rd against Winfield-Mt. Union.
