PAWS and More in Washington has taken in a record high number of animals in 2019. The animal shelter took in 837 animals. A new program was introduced in the spring with PAWS with their Dog Day Adventures. It allows dogs a chance to get out of the shelter for a bit, interact with more people, and give them a chance to be seen by potential adopters. Dogs are matched with volunteers based on activity level from those who want to go for a jog on a trail to those who want to cuddle up on the sofa. Those interested in taking part in a Dog Day Adventure can sign up at the shelter.
