The City of Washington does not have a QRS, or quick responder service, for medical calls in the city but that may change. The city council recently approved setting up a study committee to look at the issue. Mayor Jaron Rosien explained why it’s being done, “Through our ambulance discussion, we’ve had discussion on quick responder services and at our last meeting and our goal setting, we decided effectively that it should be looked at.” The study committee will include Police Chief Jim Lester, councilor and public health director Danielle Pettit-Majewski, Fire Chief Tom Wide, Kelly Williams, City Administrator Brent Hinson, and Mayor Jaron Rosien. That committee will then present any recommendations to the council for consideration.
