
An unblemished record at the break has translated into the WACO boys’ basketball team putting the state on notice and being represented in the latest rankings.
The Associated Press has the Warriors ranked sixth in class 1A for their 8-0 start. West Fork is just ahead of WACO at number five and Remsen St. Mary’s stands at number one. The Warriors have relied on a loaded senior class in the first half of the season led by Nik Coble and his 14 points and 12 rebounds a game. Drew Kissell is averaging 13.1 points a night and Pietro Vannini pitches in with 12.6.
WACO resumes play Friday against New London.
