Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen encourages people to be safe while traveling. She recommends always having your car’s headlights on, especially when your wiper blades are activated, “Headlights when it’s still kind of light out aren’t really going to do a whole lot for your ability to see the roadway and see what’s coming, but they do a huge wonder for other vehicles being able to see you. Especially with certain vehicle colors, if you’ve got a dark vehicle, or that gray-blue that just is like camouflage in fog, turn your lights on.” She adds that automatic lights won’t always turn on your vehicle’s tail-lights.
