There has been no messing around for Highland’s Zach Lasek when around the rim this season. The veteran post has been a vacuum for every loose ball and has developed into one of the best rebounder’s in the state.

The senior has gobbled up 82 boards on the season that averages 10.2 a night and ranks seventh in class 1A and first in the SEISC North division. Cleaning up the mess down low has also helped him shoot at a high clip making 57.6% of shots while leading the team with 16.5 points a game. Lasek tallied three double-doubles in the first half of the season.

Highland is 7-1 and resumes play Friday at Hillcrest Academy.
