The City of Riverside is taking the next step to enact their plans for Safe Routes to School grant monies they have received. Scott Pottorff of MMS Consultants gave updates on the capital project. Bid letting will begin in mid-February, with project completion expected around August 1st of 2020. The initiative promotes walking and bicycling to school through infrastructure improvements, enforcement, tools, safety education, and incentives. Locations listed to receive improvements include: Sidewalks on Tupelo and Ash Streets and Galileo Drive, work at the intersection of Blackberry and Ash Streets, work on the north and south sides of Sycamore Street, north side of Buckeye Lane, and the south side of Cherry Lane.
