The fifth Iowa Girls High School Basketball Rankings of the season and first of 2020 was released on Thursday and Sigourney found themselves in the top 10 once again.

The Savages sit at #10 in class 1A after a 6-2 first half of the season. Montezuma, who is Sigourney’s latest loss, stands at #1 with an 8-0 record. The Savage defense is a big reason for their success, as they give up a South Iowa Cedar League best 30 points a game. Megan Stuhr’s 21.8 points a game ranks third in class 1A.

Sigourney resumes play for the first time in 2020 on Tuesday hosting North Mahaska.
