An officer was in pursuit of a vehicle and then chased a person on foot near Brighton Thursday afternoon. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 1:21 p.m. an officer was in pursuit of a vehicle. That vehicle then stopped and a person fled on foot and into a residence at the Skunk River Lodge. Nine members of the sheriff’s office and two Washington Police officers responded to the scene near the Skunk River Bridge north of Brighton. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office tells KCII News that the case remains under investigation and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. Names of those involved have not been released. The vehicle was towed from the scene. KCII News will bring you more information as it becomes official.
