The Fort Madison wrestling team showed why they are Southeast Conference favorites last night, as they defeated Washington 63-18 to open the second half of the season.

The Bloodhounds fielded a full lineup, but the Demons were giving up points with five weight classes open. Washington won three of nine contested matches all by fall. Dillan Sanders returned from injury and moved to 11-0 on the season at 145 lbs with a pin in 1:24, Ayden Frazer picked up his 20th victory with a pin in 1:43 at 160 lbs, and Colley Billingsley had a hard fought win in 5:18 at 195 lbs. Head Coach Brent Van Weelden said the little things was the difference. “If I think about some of the matches I think we had a shot to win, I think about how we didn’t get to our set-ups. They hand fought better than us and therefore they got to our legs before we did.”

The Demons are back on the mat tomorrow for the Gary Curtis Invitational in Riverside.
