Students of Winfield-Mt. Union Schools will learn more about what to do during an active shooter situation. In conjunction with their Emergency Operations Planning Committee, a video presentation will teach students about a strategy called “Run, Hide, Fight” which is being taught in schools around the nation. A letter was sent out to parents earlier this month to notify them about this taking place as well as a link to the video students will be watching. Homeroom teachers will lead the discussion with the students and collect questions after the session is over.Middle school and high school students will participate in this training during their homeroom class on January 15th while kindergarten through fifth grade students will learn about potential evacuation scenarios during recesses to better learn their emergency planning procedures.
