In a Southeast Conference dual, the Mount Pleasant wrestling team had the upper hand over Washington last night winning 48-28.
As heard on KCII, the Demons won five of nine contested matches, but the Panthers benefitted from four forfeits and winning all of their matches by fall. The headliner for Washington was at 182 lbs when Curtis Stender mounted a third period comeback to win by a 5-4 decision and momentarily tie the dual score at 18-18. Ayden Frazer picked up his 21st win of the season at 160 lbs with a methodical 9-2-decision victory. Other contested match winners included Matt Collett by a 9-1 major at 126 lbs, Brandon Dickel by fall at 138 lbs (1:51), and Brayden Hartman recorded a pin at 285 lbs (5:38).
The Demons drop their dual record to 8-6 on the season and they return to the mat tomorrow at Solon for a tournament.
