The Washington boys’ basketball team now has company atop of the Southeast Conference standings after they dropped a heartbreaker on the road 59-57 to Keokuk.

It was nip and tuck the entire way with the Chiefs holding a slight 25-24 lead at half and finding a way to hold on in the end. The Demons drop to 7-3 and are now 4-1 in the conference after playing each team once. Keokuk is also 4-1 with their only loss coming to Burlington. Round two between the Demons and Chiefs is February 14th at home.

There is no time to sulk, as Washington looks to bounce back tonight in a home game against Davis County. The Mustangs are 2-6 out of the South Central Conference and Dalton Reeves is the main man with 17.3 points a night. Listen to the non-conference action on FM 106.1 KCII with tip at 7:45 p.m.
