The Hillcrest Academy boys and girls basketball teams were on the floor in Kalona Tuesday against visiting Mediapolis. The Hillcrest girls fell by a 65-18 count. The 12th ranked Bullettes led 26-8 after one quarter and went on a 21-0 run that spanned the entire second frame to take a 47-8 lead into the half. Esther Hughes led the Raven girls with 10 points. With the loss, Hillcrest falls to 1-12.

The Raven boys got a measure of revenge on the Bulldogs in the nightcap, winning 49-38. The Bulldogs beat the Ravens in Mediapolis 56-52 in December. MEPO was up by a basket at the first quarter break, Hillcrest responded to tie the game at 21 going to the half. In the third quarter the Ravens made their move. Coming out of the locker room with an 18-8 run that would last the entire period to go up 10 going to the fourth. From there, the Ravens finished down the stretch for the win. Eli Ours led Hillcrest with 19 points, Kobe Borntrager had 17. With the win, the Raven boys are now 5-6.
