Several local athletes were named to the Academic All State Honor Roll recently released by the Iowa Football Coaches Association.

Making the cut for 8-player was WACO’s Nik Coble and Gabe Reichenbach and Winfield-Mt. Union’s Daunte Oepping. Sigourney-Keota’s Dawson Baumert, J.D. Stout, and Joe Swanstrom were selected for class 1A.

To be eligible for nomination a player must be a senior starter, have at least a 3.7 cumulative GPA at the end of their junior year, be involved in other extra-curricular activities, and be recommended by a coach.
