The Hillcrest girls come into the night with an overall record of 1-13. The Ravens were last on the court at Louisa-Muscatine Thursday, dropping a contest with the Falcons 58-22, despite a career high 20 points for Esther Hughes. On the season the Ravens are led by Hughes at 10 points per game. Yani Gutierrez leads the team with 24 assists and 86 rebounds.
Wapello enters play with an overall record of 10-4. The Arrows were winners against Highland Friday 68-47 on the strength of 21 points and 11 rebounds from Eryka Dickey. On the season, Wapello is led by Dickey at 13 points per game. She is also the best on the glass with 86 boards. Holly Massner has a team best 55 assists and 56 steals. These two teams met in Wapello on December 17th with the Arrows scoring a 66-20 win.
The Hillcrest boys come into the night at 6-7 on year, having dropped a game at Pekin 47-38 last night. Eli Ours led the way for the Ravens in the loss with 21 points, 19 of those coming in the second half. On the year, Ours is the leading scorer for the Ravens at 18 points per game. His 49 assists and 26 steals also lead the team. Kobe Borntrager is best on the glass with 85 boards.
Wapello comes into the game with an overall mark of 5-7. They were beaten at home by Highland on Friday 54-43 with Caden Thomas scoring 18 points. Maddox Griffin leads the Indians this year at 15 points per game. He also has a team best 73 assists, 46 steals and 79 rebounds. The Indians won this matchup in December 57-43 in Wapello. Action begins tonight at 6p.m. in Kalona.
