A pair of KCII area schools will face off in a Southeast Iowa Superconference basketball doubleheader Thursday when Winfield-Mt. Union welcomes Hillcrest Academy. The WMU girls enter play with an overall record of 9-8 including a 45-30 win at Highland on Tuesday. In the win, Kyndal Townsley and Melina Oepping each had 11 points. For the year the Lady Wolves are led by Farrah Nelson and Townsley at seven points per game. Nelson is the team leader on the glass with 149 boards. Jami Wilkerson paces with Wolves with 41 assists.

The Ravens enter with an overall mark of 1-14. They lost at home to Wapello Tuesday 71-17 with Esther Hughes scoring six points. On the season the Ravens are led by Hughes at 10 points per game. Yani Gutierrez has the team lead with 24 assists. She is also the best rebounder for the Ravens with 86 on the year. These two teams met in Kalona earlier this season with the Wolves collecting a 59-26 win led by 13 points from Townsley.

The Hillcrest boys come into action even at 7-7 on the year after a win in Kalona over Wapello on Tuesday. The Ravens were led in the victory by Kobe Borntrager and Eli Ours each at 18 points. On the season, Ours is the team leader for Hillcrest at 18 points per game. He also leads the Raven guard court with 49 assists. Borntrager is best on the boards with 85 rebounds.

Winfield-Mt. Union enters play at 4-11 on the season. Last time out the Wolves were handled by Highland 63-40. On the season WMU is led by Christian Gerot at 12 points per game. Daunte Oepping has a team best 75 assists and 88 rebounds. These two teams met earlier in the year in Kalona with Hillcrest taking a 59-45 win led by 14 points from Eli Ours.
