The Keota City Council will forgive one man’s egregious water bill. Aaron Pew was in South Dakota when an unknown individual broke into his Keota home and plugged his drains, turned on the water, and left. The incident happened on January 5th. Pew’s water bill came out to $1,900 according to city officials. Pew’s Keota home was on the market when the incident occured. The city council heard about the situation at their latest meeting and agreed to waive the high water bill. The damages to the house will still be the responsibility of Pew. No arrests have been made.
