In a de-facto conference championship between the top seeds in each division, the WACO boys’ basketball team reigned supreme in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference Shootout by downing Pekin 59-50 on Friday at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant.

Pekin threw the first punch leading 14-10 after one, but a prosperous second and third quarter allowed the Warriors to take an eight-point lead and hang on for the victory against the now 14-4 Panthers. Gabe Reichenbach continues to emerge, as he finished with a game-high 19 points, Pietro Vannini added 15, and Nik Coble chipped in with 12.

The Warriors improve to 20-0 overall and 15-0 in the league. They try to cap off a perfect regular season Friday when they travel to Van Buren.
