It will be a rivalry game to open the postseason for the Sigourney and Keota girls basketball teams when the Savages meet the Eagles in Sigourney for the first round of the class 1A girls tournament Thursday. The Sigourney girls come into action with an overall record of 16-4. Last time out the Savages hammered Tri County 58-12 behind 26 points from Megan Stuhr and 17 from Makenna Hammes. On the year Sigourney is led by Stuhr at 21 points per game. She is also the team leader with 67 steals and 52 assists. Kaylee Weber paces the Savages with 167 rebounds.

Keota enters play with an overall record of 2-17. Last time out the Eagles were beaten by Sigourney 72-11 on the road Friday. Taylor Kindred led the Eagles in the game with six points. On the year Keota is paced by Bailey Sieren at six points per game. She is also the team leader with 34 assists and 19 steals. Taylor Kindred leads the Eagles on the glass with 103 boards. Along with the Sigourney win February 7th, these two teams met at Sigourney right before the Christmas break with the Savages scoring a 47-6 victory behind 19 points from Stuhr. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Sigourney High School.
