Work is underway on expanding Washington’s City Hall and Police Station into the former fire department area. The renovations are all happening within the same footprint of the existing building, but since the new $2.5 million fire department was completed, work has been underway maximizing the space. According to city officials, phase one is renovating the former fire station into most of City Hall and the new City Council chambers. That phase is expected to end in March.

Once that is complete, all city staff and police will move into that area while phase two improvements commence. Phase two is renovating the existing City Hall and Police Station to better suit the police department. Phase two is expected to be completed by the end of September.
