The postseason is here for the Washington girls’ basketball team, as they open class 4A regional play tonight against Newton.
The Demons finished the regular season 11-9 and look to put a four-game losing skid behind them. Anna Nacos paces the team offensively with 11.3 points a game. The Cardinals are 7-14 out of a tough Little Hawkeye Conference and Meg Callaghan is a player to look out for with 12.4 points a night. Washington head coach Shannon Rugg knows the challenge that is ahead. “They play man-to-man and have a big girl inside that will challenge our posts. We want to win the last game in our home gym and our seniors deserve that. We will be ready to go.”
The postseason gets started at 7 p.m. tonight in Washington. Listen to the Demons’ entire playoff run on FM 106.1 KCII.
