An ambulance director has been hired for Washington County. On Wednesday, in a special session the Washington County Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of Jeremy Peck as the ambulance director. The vote to hire Peck was approved 4-1 with Abe Miller as the one nay vote. Peck’s starting date has not yet been set.

Peck is a native of the Wellman area and works as the Assistant Director of the Johnson County Ambulance. He’s also done some part time work with Washington County Ambulance Inc.

He will oversee the department that the county is creating. The goal is to have the department in place and ready to roll at 12:01 a.m. July 1st, as the current ambulance contract with a private company ends at midnight on June 30th.
