An Iowa social worker is in the midst of having his license revoked due to erratic behaviors. David Seagull, a social worker out of Fairfield, has been charged by the Iowa Board of Social Work with various punishable offenses that could lead to his licence being revoked. Seagull was arrested in November 2019 for harassment in the third degree and two counts of assault while carrying a dangerous weapon. According to the findings of the board, Seagull was hospitalized for erratic behavior, made sexually explicit comments to a client, and expressed ideas of shooting his former therapist in the head. The board recently approved a motion to postpone Seagull’s hearing on March 2nd to a later date. Seagull’s reasoning behind this was to resolve his criminal matters first. His license will continue to be suspended until a decision is made by the board.
