As the All-State Large-Group Speech festival plays out today, speech students are beginning to look toward the solo speech season. The River Valley Conference will be holding their own solo speech competition this Monday to give students an opportunity to practice their performances before the district competition. Monday’s competition will be judged and each category will have awards for first, second, and third place finishes. Categories at this competition include radio news announcing, improvisation, storytelling, and more. Schools competing include host-school Mid-Prairie, as well as  Anamosa, Bellevue Community, Cascade,Monticello, North Cedar, Northeast Community, Tipton, West Liberty, and Wilton.
