Upset minded Washington makes a trip North this evening for a class 4A regional semifinal girls basketball matchup when they duel with #2 ranked Marion.

The Demon girls come into the contest with a 12-9 mark and advanced to the semis after a 43-36 victory over Newton on Wednesday. Anna Nacos had another impressive performance with 23 points and Olivia Pacha recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Every Demon will need to be at their best against the cream of the 4A crop that is the Indians. Marion was state-runner up last year and hold a 20-1 record this winter with their only loss coming last week to Iowa City West. They lead the state in many statistical categories including scoring margin at plus 31. Three players average double digit scoring led by Kayba Laube with 21 points a night. These two teams met up in this round last year with the Indians having a 66-35 upper hand.

The chance to keep the season alive gets underway at 5 p.m. from Marion. Listen to the game on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 4:30 p.m.
