The 2020 Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association Jazz festival will feature two area schools. The Mid-Prairie and Winfield-Mount Union bands will travel to Iowa City West High School on Saturday to compete for a spot in the Iowa Jazz Championships. Awards will be given to the top three schools in each class, with the top two bands in each class qualifying for the Jazz Championships. Mid-Prairie and W-MU last made the championships in 2018, with the Golden Hawks finishing seventh overall in class 2A, and the Wolves were recognized with an outstanding performer in Lianna Sweezer. The championship takes place on April 7th in Ames.
