The 2020 Business Partnership Annual Dinner hosted by the Washington Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Washington, and the Washington Economic Development Group celebrated local businesses and citizens Monday night. The Chamber’s Citizen of the Year award was presented posthumously to Washington County Extension Director Nancy Adrian; her daughter, Amy Green, with family and friends accepting the award. Eric Buchholz presented the award, “Nancy Adrian was truly a shining example of humility, generosity, love, and community spirit. Washington County and its residents are truly better for having had the honor of calling Nancy one of our own. She deserves the honor of Citizen of the Year, although posthumously, as a thank you for her lifetime commitment to helping others, her hundreds of hours of volunteerism, and being a constant cheerleader. Those of us who knew Nancy know she would smile and be humbled by this honor, and then she’d be right back to work.”
The Business of the Year was Hills Bank. Main Street Washington named Tim Elliott as Volunteer of the Year. The Harvey Holden Award was presented to three entities, Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, Open Gates, and the YMCA.
