safe-driving

Have a safe way home planned before you go out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The annual holiday falls on Tuesday and the Iowa Department of Public Safety is reminding people to be safe. According to the IDPS, in 2018 nationally, 74 people were killed in drunk-driving crashes over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday period. In 2019 in Iowa, two crashes over the holiday killed four people. Local law enforcement agencies will be stepping up traffic enforcement March 14-17. They will especially be watching for drunk and drugged drivers, and anyone not wearing seat belts. Have a sober ride set up in advance of your celebrations.
