The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk and Hillcrest Raven activities departments saw their spring sports seasons put on hiatus Monday due to the coronavirus epidemic. In a press release from the Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Speech Association and Iowa High School Music Association Monday, the four groups made their decision to suspend events and practices through the state’s recommended four week closure due to the community spread of COVID-19. The prohibition will extend through Friday, April 10th. These organizations plans on reassessing the situation at that time. For Mid-Prairie this means that boys soccer, boys and girls track and field and boys and girls golf will pause while Hillcrest Academy will have things come to a temporary stop for boys soccer, boys and girls track and field and boys and girls golf. The two schools share a girls soccer program.
