Members of the Mid-Prairie High School and Middle School archery teams are being honored for their work with the bow and in the classroom during the past season. Seven total Golden Hawks earned the National Archery in the Schools Program Academic Archer Certificate. At the high school level recipients included Koby Karnes, Kylee Shirkey, Peyton Freeman and Payton Peck. At the middle school level Tate Bombei, Morgyn Nafziger and Blake Peck all took home the award. A student-athlete receives this recognition if they maintain a grade point average that establishes them within school criteria for high academic scholarship and have no D’s or F’s during the in-season academic session. This winter, the Golden Hawks wrapped up their first archery season in school history.
