Additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Iowa, bringing the total to 68 on Saturday according to the Iowa Department of Public Health. That is up from 45 on Friday. The cases include two in Washington County, one in Henry County, and 27 in Johnson County. The novel coronavirus has now been confirmed in 17 counties across the state. Most of the cases are in two age groups: 23 cases are people 41-60 and and 23 people 61-80 years of age. Also, 18 people in the 18-40 year old age group have been confirmed with the virus.
People are encouraged to practice social distancing by staying home to help prevent the spread of illness, when going out maintain six feet of distance between other people, and continue to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, and clean high-contact areas like light switches, doorknobs, counter tops, and phones.
