In light of disaster declarations for the COVID-19 impact, resources have been made available to assist small businesses across Iowa. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt says one option is the Iowa Small Business Relief Program and the deadline to apply is March 31st at noon, “I think number one, the Iowa Economic Development Authority has really done a good job this week of highlighting a couple of new programs. Monday, a business grant program was announced for small businesses that have between two and 25 employees. And that grant program went live Tuesday morning 8 a.m. and that would allow for up to $25,000 in grant dollars to help offset those costs over those losses that have happened because of this pandemic.”
There’s also a fund targeting small businesses that are sole proprietorships and those applications will be considered in the order they are received.
The U.S. Small Business Administration also has low-interest support loans available for businesses and Governor Kim Reynolds submitted a federal funding request via the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program. Find all of the application information here.
